Following the Secretary of States announcement on school absences. Headteachers in England and Wales may not grant leave except for exceptional circumstances.
Having examined some 20 authorities there is unfortunately a great deal of interpretation as to what Heads might consider as exceptional. I have tried to combine the most sensible examples together to allow some degree of common sense. The outcome is the following set of, I hope sensible reasons and requirements.
