How Doe We Use Results to Further Improve?

At Beatrix Potter we use the data on both an individual child's basis and on a bigger picture basis to improve.

Our senior leaders and teachers meet on a termly basis to scrutinise each child's results, looking for children in need of intervention to reach a better standard, whether that be to meet greater depth, expected standards, or the next step in progress for a child with special educational needs.

Interventions include:

small groups led by the year group teachers

specialist extension maths and english groups led by the Headteacher and maths extension specialist teacher

catch ups led by the Deputy headteacher

SENDCo directed social, emotional and mental health groups

1:1 up to 1:4 tutoring

SENDCo directed speech and language/ fine and gross motor skills groups

SENDCo directed specific reading and writing interventions

Bigger Picture Interventions

Data from 2019 led to a focus in writing which continues today. Our children now complete weekly extended writing in KS2 and fortnightly in KS1. Enhancing pupil premium continues to be a target with a whole suite of specific interventions taking place across the school.
