The Nursery and reception Stages of education are now called the Foundation Stage.
A New Curriculum has been devised and schools such as BP are beginning to implement this new model. In fact it continues the good practice already taking place in primary schools at this age.

For reception term three the summer term is an important stage.  With targets set for schools, the literacy and numeracy initiatives the expectations for children at year one and year two are high.  Introducing the literacy and numeracy approaches for the move into year one is essential.  BP was already aware of this issue and is moving on several ideas to how best to tackle this transition.  What is important is that the children are not suddenly phased by the change of approach.  At this time we can say "Watch this Space" for developments
