Leipzig, Meeting
Grundschule 24 Leipzig, Germany.
Flags welcomed partners to our meeting. This meeting was an additional planning meeting following changes made to the Comenius programme by the European Community. Gisella leads her school in entertaining us at the welcoming ceremony for all partners.
As part of the first stages of the project each school took part in a photo competition on the theme of water. At each meeting in the partner countries the exhibition is set up. Besides the photos each partner has sent information on their school and its location.
Leipzig suffered during the war and from the period under East German rule. The City centre is being re-discovered and in the picture on the left is the main market square. On the right we see our Catalonian, Spanish partners taking part in a drinking festival (We Think?)
The school has extensive grounds and all the partners were amazed to see the gardening going on. All the pupils grow their own flowers and vegetables in very extensive plots as you can see.
