Silz is in the Austrian Tyrol, it is what you imagine an alpine valley to be.  On both sides mountains rise into the sky.

The tree on the left came from a planning meeting the first partner schools had.

At this stage we had England, Germany and Austria as partner schools.  As you can see this has expanded.

The small picture at the base of the tree is our first partners in St Catherine's Dock London.

The tree was our first symbol, the partnership taking root and growing.

Volkschule Silz laid on a brass band as we arrived for the official start of the partnership.

Later we travelled to the largest waterfall in the Tyrol, all part of our theme of water, as you can see its a magnificent site.

Together for the first time, all the partners in the project.  Quite an achievement for us all.

We spent many hours discussing the best way to take our project forward.  How we could deal with the language barriers, the practicalities of communicating.

Could we carry out exchanges and how we could exchange work and curriculum ideas.

It was very obvious the partners had much in common, by the last day partners had become friends.
